So if your parents developed it, there is a good possibility that you would have one too. The worst place for the cystic acne to grow is of course on the face, but it can develop in other body parts too such as the legs, shoulders, back and chest. Although the cyst can be hidden by clothes, it is not advisable to wear tight fitting clothes which could worsen the irritation and dry the skin which could make the throbbing sores more unbearable. Try to wear comfortable loose clothes when you have cystic acne on your body.
It is just normal for a person suffering from cystic acne to find the fastest cure possible to get out of his/her misery. One of the more popularly used cures for extreme cystic acne which gave good results was Isotretinoin. The prescribed drug known as Accutane contains Vitamin A in a condensed form. However, regardless of its confirmed effectiveness against acne, it should be used if no other medications work because it has negative side effects. Pregnant women are warned against using this because it can lead to congenital defects and even losing the baby. Doctors, when prescribing Accutane are also prescribed two types of contraceptives to put off getting pregnant during treatment.
Women can try some forms of medication that will work, but not too strong such as Neutrogena which contain very good cleansers and a good dose of benzoyl peroxide which is not harmful to pregnant women. Another thing that you have to consider will be the cost of going to a dermatologist all the time which could really become very expensive in the long run. You should try your best to look into some non-prescription products that could work for you. Who knows, if it works for you, it will mean hundreds of dollars saved on consultation fees.
Regardless of the cure you choose as the one that will do you best, cystic acne can be treated. If the first medication does not work, there are others that can prove to be more effective. But if you can afford it, consult a physician or a skin doctor who could lead you to the right medication for a clearer skin the fast way.
